The Piper Family first started in the Grocery business in 1922 when Harry Piper opened the Sanitary Market here in Marquette. Charles & Flora Piper became the second generation of Pipers to own a store when they purchased the Home Mercantile in 1969. The store was later renamed Piper's Fine Foods and Steve Piper took over in 1998. Today Steve and Mary Piper operate not only the grocery store, but also the Valley Cafe, and the Washington Street Emporium. They have many wonderful employees, including their son Levi, and when she is not at her full-time job at the Marquette Farmers State Bank, their daughter Jenny.
Piper's Fine Foods is a member of Affiliated Foods Midwest, a cooperative grocery warehouse located in Norfolk, Nebraska. www.afmidwest.com We offer the country's top line of groceries with the Shurfine line of products.
